This House Can Talk

This was a project for the Willimantic Victorian Neighborhood Association. I was asked to create a branding symbol for, This House Can Talk, a project with the goal to educate people on the stories behind the historical houses in Willimantic, CT. To make the branding symbol I viewed the houses around Willimantic as well as other victorian architecture. I combined a simple roof graphic I created with powerful typography to create a recognizable branding symbol.

In addition to the logo, I was asked to create signs for the historical houses that included a QR code that would take the viewer to a website giving information about the house. Each house needed its own unique design, however, the signs needed to be recognizable and fit together. I designed each of the signs with the same layout to create a cohesive look. To make each sign personal to the home they would be placed at, I studied the homes and abstracted one memorable aspect of the house into a design, adding a pop of color to the sign.
